この数字は、警視庁がまとめた東日本大震災による６月4日付の行方不明者数。
1995年の阪神淡路大震災の死者数6437名をゆうに超えている。
そしてその8281の命を探して家族や友人が毎日毎日遺体安置所に通い、
津波で流された自宅や学校や会社の跡地に向かい
ＤＮＡ検査をして何らかの手がかりを求め続けている。
そして彼らは、命を助けられなかったからといって自分たちを責め続けている。
５歳の息子が行方不明の母親は、自分だけが生き続けて良いものかと苦しみ続けて、
３月１１日以降カレンダーをめくれないでいると涙ながらに話す。

98,916。　この数字は6月4日現在の避難所で暮らす人の数。

30%。　この数字は宮城県のとある市で仮設住宅の入居権を得たものの、
実際に住んでいる人の比率。
7割もの人が当選しても入居せずに避難所に居続ける理由の一つは
収入がなくても仮設住宅に入居すると食糧支援が打ち切られるから。

来週は大震災から９０日が経つ。
この間、相当数の日本国民が強く認識したのは
この国の政治家が偽物だということ。
震災をたかり自己防衛と権力の椅子取りゲームに明け暮れ
復興委員を務めるある議員はセックススキャンダル。

地方自治や民間企業やボランティアが復興に向けて必死に頑張っていて、
そして何よりこの数字の被災者が歯を食いしばって何とか生きているというのに。

This number is missing people as of June 4th reported by the police department.
It has been increasing more than 6437 which was the death number of the Kobe earthquake in 1995.
Ane, people has been searching for 8,281 people who are their family and friends.
They keep visiting to morgues everyday, they keep visiting to lands where used to be their houses, schools, kindergardens and offices to find out any information.
They applied DNA tests to find out their missing family.
And, they keep beating themselves up that they could not help family.
One mother, her 5-year-old son is missing, she is crying that she can not update the calendar since March 11th because she has been struggling with living without her baby boy.

This number is people who still live at evacuation centers.

30%
This is the number of residents in temporary housing in one city of Miyagi pref hit by tsunami and quake.
Rest of 70% residents have not lived there yet even they have the right to live there.
One of reasons is that they can't take food help outside the shelter even they have no way to gain money to live.

Almost 90 days have been passing since the day of 3.11.
What the people of Japanese strongly recognized during 90 days is politicians of this country are fake.

They use "the disaster" as an excuse and a tool for everything but what they are really doing is self-protection and power game.
And one politician who is a member of the reconstruction committee is in his sex scandal now.

Do politicians recognize local governments in disaster areas, public companies, volunteers, and above all, these numbers of victims of the disaster are glitting their teeth to live tomorrow, to get through this tremendous tough situation?

Musicians I love

音楽、特に洋楽が大好き。
音楽を通してイギリスやアメリカのカルチャーに興味を持ち、
たまたまその言語である英語を高校生の時から一生懸命に勉強した。

Joni Mitchellは１９８０年代後半から好きになったのを覚えている。
それより前にリリースされたアルバムも片っ端から聴いた。
どれもが好きでは無く苦手な曲もある。

Night Ride Homeはいつでも心動かされる素晴らしい名曲。
しん、、と静かな夜に一人で聞きたい曲の一つ。

I love music.   Music invited me to experience UK and USA culture.
English was the language of musics I loved, so I have studied English very hard since highschool student.

I remember that I started to listen Joni Mitchell from late of 80's.
I listened most of her albums.  There are some musics I don't feel good.

"Night Ride Home" is one of the greatest songs of my library - it always moves to my heart.
Especially very good vibration to listen alone at night, very quiet night.

Yves sanit Laurent

映画「イヴ・サンローラン」良かった。

フランスの国宝級ファッションデザイナー　イヴ・サンローランが21歳でグッチのチーフデザイナーに指名されてから72歳で亡くなるまでの生涯を、彼を50年近く公私共に支えたパートナーのピエール・ベルジュ氏の語りによる回顧録なドキュメンタリー。

ベルジュ氏の語りには一貫して、ピンと糸が張ったような緊張感と、沈黙と沈黙の間に語り手と観客のコミュニケーションが存在した素晴らしいドキュメンタリー。

これを見てから、信念を貫くことや、人や自分に真摯に向き合うこととはどういうことなのかを
自分に問い続けている。

The documentry "Yves Saint Laurent - Perre Berge L'amour Fou" was
great film.

It is the memoir documentary about the national treasure class great fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent and his entire story as a fashion designer since the chief designer of Gucci at his 21st.  His lifetime partner Pierre Berge is a teller.

I was moved this documentary because there is a sort of good tension throughout a dialogue and I felt the communication between the teller and the viewer between "silence" and "silence".

And I have been asking myself the meaning of persisting in my belief and what "facing myself and others" is since I saw this film.

HELPS AROUND THE WORLD

去年の6月に1週間滞在したACE HOTEL (NY) のブログで知ったチャリティポスター。ジェイムス・ホワイトというアーティストによる　HELP JAPAN というポスター。今回の東北の地震と津波へ売り上げがカナダの赤十字社へ寄付される。アートから得る感覚は人それぞれだが、私はこの日の丸から　甚大な被害に途方に暮れる壊れそうな心と、何が何でも復興するという不屈の強さを感じた。

 I found this article in regards to the charity poster "Help Japan" designed by James White from the blog of the Ace Hotel NY where I stayed a week in last June. This is a charity poster to donate to the Canada Red Cross for the earthquake and tsunami in the north-east Japan. We feel and learn freely from the art - it's up to you -, I felt from this rising sun that our fragile feeling facing such great damages and our never-give-up spirit to revoer.

私は祈ります、この震災の犠牲者となった8,450人の方々、どうぞ安らかにお眠りくださいと。
私は祈ります、安否不明の18,432人の方から１人でも多くの方が救出されることを。

全知全能の神がいるとすれば、この大震災を引き起こした意義は何かと問いたい。
ここから私たちは何を得よと迫られるのであろう？

先日、東京の友人と喋っていたら彼女が最近観に行った映画のことを話してくれた。
雑誌の映画評で読んだことがあるこの映画。
いよいよ３月５日から大阪でも上映。　東京だけかと思っていたから、嬉しい！
旨く表現する言葉が見当たらないけれど、この匂い、感覚、文句無しにカッコイイ。

When I was talking with my friend in Tokyo over the phone last night, she told about the movie she saw; "Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson"

I read a review and am interested in it very much... and available in Osaka from March 5th.  I thought it would be available in Tokyo only, so happy!

I can't fin the right word to describe my feeling though... this kind of smell and feeling is really awesome!

先月、NYからデザイナーが来日した時の会話。
私は彼女の担当では無いけれど、久し振りの再会を喜び、少しの時間一緒に仕事をした。
彼女のデザインするチャームを猫にプレゼントした、、という話しをしたときに、
「まだ生後６ヶ月だったけど避妊手術をしたから」と言おうとした時に、はて、避妊手術って英語で何だっけ？　
確か、、spay? saspy? 　えーい、「私の猫、妊娠しないように卵取ったのよ」はい、これで十分通じます。で、彼女が教えてくれたのが、get fixed.  　直訳すると「整える」とか「矯正する」という意味になるのかな。『人間には使わないわよ、あ、でも性転換手術なら使うかな？』
なるほど、get fixed、便利な表現ね。

The conversation with a designer from New York the other day.    She usually works with one of my colleague not me but we were glad to meet again and worked for a while together at that time.
When I was talking to her that I gave her designed tiny letter charm to my cat, I wanted to say "because she had a surgery of....." well. what to say a surgery not to get pregnant in English?  Was it sapy? saspy?

So I kept saying "she took her eggs out not to get pregnant"  yes,,, that's enough.  Then she said, "oh, that's -get fixed-"... I did not know to use it for that occasion.  And she added "that's not expression for human...but sometimes it could be used for a gender change operation...?"
Well, "get fixed"  I remember such a useful expression.
